Hardware
========

This BIOS update is compatible with all models of the Diamond
Fire GL 1000 Pro hardware, including 4 and 8MB PCI and AGP bus 
cards.

Software
========

This BIOS version is compatible with Fire GL 1000 Pro SuperCD releases 
1.1 and higher.

Installation
============

Before beginning, determine the current BIOS version by examining the 
Fire GL 1000 Pro boot string displayed on the screen when your computer
is powered up. Updating your BIOS is recommended if the version number 
displayed is less than the current version number called out at the 
top of this document.

Your computer must be running in DOS mode only when updating the BIOS
on your Fire GL 1000 Pro. If you are using Windows95 as your operating
system, reboot your machine in DOS mode only before running the BIOS
update utility.

If you are running NT4 or any other operating system that does not
support DOS only operation, you will need to format a DOS boot diskette
and copy the update utility to this diskette in order to update your
Fire GL 1000 Pro BIOS.

Usage
=====

Caution! The update program cannot run properly if started in a DOS box
under Win95 or NT. Make sure the following files are available in your
current working directory, and that your machine is running in DOS only mode
before starting the update procedure:

biosload.exe	- Executable program that transfers the updated BIOS
		  file to the card
f1kp148.bin	- BIOS file 

update.bat	- Batch file called to update the BIOS

Dos4gw.exe	- DOS Extender utility (required to run the executable )

update.pif	- Win95 profile to run the update batch file in DOS only mode

From the directory where these files are located, enter the command
"update.bat" from the command line in order to initiate the BIOS
update.

Troubleshooting
===============

If your Diamond Fire GL 1000 Pro does not operate properly after the BIOS
has been updated, consult your documentation for information on
contacting Diamond Tech Support, or ask your computer dealer for
assistance.
